Jelutong Waterfront, Penang Client : IJM Berhad Year of completion : 2013 Award : Decorative Concrete Council - Multiple Applications - Over 5,000 SF, 2nd Place (2019)

The landscape consultant was requested by the developer to use our various systems for the pool decks, walkways, barbecue deck, children’s playground, and spectator tiered low seat wall arena.

The pool deck and walkways are paved with Sandscape in Light Shale Gray and Natural Gray colours.   With experienced eyes for colour co-ordination, we created drama with the quiet choices of Light Shale Gray and Natural Gray of linear bands of varying widths that called for precision and expert craftsmanship. A broom brushed finish of Sand Colour Hardener was chosen for the walkways from pool deck to the changing rooms.  Creative variations of rectangular stepping stones in broom brushed finish in between grass strips or loose river pebbles lend to soften the otherwise hardscapes.

The cabanas, shower stands, barbecue deck, pits and precast tabletops at the poolside were covered with exposed aggregate of 5mm black & grey pebble. The wading pool deck is also an exposed aggregate installation with 5mm light gray pebbles.

A visitor described the Main Entrance as an “artful entrance”. Sandscape panels in French Gray, Natural Gray and Sand were colour alternated in serial order or staggered and interlocked to deliver an impressive configuration. Sandscape paving in French Gray, Natural Gray and Sand covered the driveway intersections and the drop-off areas, facilitating access and direction for both the residents and visitors.

Stunning feature walls, a reflexology path, and custom concrete benches covered with exposed aggregate were all installed within our scope of works.

Specialty planter boxes/benches in gray exposed aggregate provide comfortable seating to enjoy the fantastic panoramic view of the surroundings and the sea. The step stones of the same finish are added compliments to the tiled roof slab.
